The Center for Resource Recovery and Recycling (CR3)

The Center for Resource Recovery and Recycling (CR3) is dedicated to developing new technologies for maximizing the recovery and recycling of metals used in manufactured products and structures.  By promoting a more sustainable approach to the use of metals in the United States, the center aims to dramatically reduce the energy usage and carbon footprint associated with their productions.

The first center dedicated to sustainable metals recovery and recycling is being funded from the National Science Foundation and industry support.  At present Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the The Colorado School of Mines are partners with plans to include Purdue and KU Leuven as well.

For more information on joining CR3 please contact Prof. Apelian, the Center's Director, at dapelian@wpi.edu or visit the CR3 website at http://www.wpi.edu/academics/Research/CR3/index.html
